P&O Ferries have made a change to their Smoking Policy on P&O Ferries Western Channel and North Sea services.
As of 30th June 2008 smoking will only be permitted in outside designated areas on the North Sea and all outdoor decks on the Western Channel. All interior lounge areas, restaurants, bars, shops and cabins will be non-smoking.
Any passengers wishing to smoke may do so, but will be required to use the designated outside deck areas.

I hate smokers... never can stand the smell of smoke... while i was on ferry to france, there was a guy who kept on smoking irrespective of the crewmen warning him.. really disgusting..
This is a wise decision taken by the ferry authorities otherwise all the other passengers would get affected by the passive smoking if though they are not smoking themselves. This kind of habits which are injurious for public health should be banned in all public transports ,if not possible certain measures should be taken like the ferry co. did. I'm really interested to know if the policy has been successfully implemented to restrict the passengers smoking habits or if they are willing to abide by the rules.
